Thank you for being part of conserving rare poultry breeds

Thank you for engaging with this risk management action of the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia. The aim is to increase the number of breeders holding rare breeds as well as increase the sustainability of existing flocks.

As part of the 2024 Poultry Census, the RBTA relaunched the Rare Poultry Breeders Directory. If you are a current financial member of the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia you are invited to list pure breed poultry on the Directory. At least one of your submitted breeds must be on the Trust's Watchlist so please check our Poultry page before submitting your details. 

Terms and Conditions

You need to be a current financial member of the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia to be listed on the register. Where your RBTA membership lapses, the relevant listings will be removed from the register.  We also encourage you to join a local or breed poultry club although this is not a condition of listing your breed on this Register.

You will be asked to provide your name, your state, your preferred contact details, and breed details. By doing so agree that the Rare Breeds Trust of Australia has permission to publish the provided details.  The name of any other poultry club you enter in the relevant question below will not be published. 

The Rare Breeds Trust of Australia is not responsible for any losses or misunderstandings associated with the Register.  All and any costs are to be negotiated between the breeder and interested buyer. The Rare Breeds Trust of Australia does not endorse listings below, rather we provide the platform for breeders/members to list their breeds.  Discretion and education is always required when selecting poultry,  for health and condition, and whether a bird is true to the Australian Poultry Standards.
