Fabulous annual competiton - all draught horse breeds in Australia are rare, although the Clydesdale is listed as a Recovering breed it's only just safe. These events not only get the horses out in the public eye, but vitally keep their uses alive, and the skills that go along with using farm horses.
Lots of fun - waggon rides all day. Many demonstrations and talks. Food stalls. Bring your own chair - and it's only $15 entry - and free camping for all who want it. The Australian Draught, a breed being formed, is a top type and will be there too.
Wonderful day to watch horses at work with some of the best horsemen in Australia, and support them. Photo is Aleks winning last year - see if he can win again in 2026. They need sponsoors too. See their Facebook page - The Golden Plough - for details.
